FICTION: SHORT, MEDIUM, LONG

Stories take many forms; how long each is depends on an author's preferred style or, sometimes, what mood he or she is in. During this six-week workshop, each person will complete a draft of a story. Before starting, we will decide whether said story works best as a short-short or "flash fiction" piece; a medium-length short story in the 20-page range; or a portion of a longer work. As we progress, class members will share their manuscripts and collect each other's suggestions.
